Albania’s Economy Shows Strong Momentum as World Bank Upgrades Growth Forecast

Albania’s economy continues to demonstrate resilience and steady expansion, with growth prospects exceeding previous expectations. According to the latest World Bank outlook for the Western Balkans, Albania’s GDP is projected to grow by approximately 3.7% in 2025, with stable growth expected to continue in the following years.

Economic expansion is being driven primarily by the services sector, the construction industry, and increasing domestic consumption. Inflation remains under control, while public debt has shown signs of gradual reduction, strengthening the country’s macroeconomic stability.

The labor market has also shown steady improvement, with rising employment levels and wage growth contributing to stronger internal demand and overall economic activity.

International analysts highlight Albania as one of the most dynamic emerging economies in Southeast Europe, supported by growing foreign direct investment, fiscal stability, and gradual integration with European markets.

Despite the positive outlook, structural challenges remain, including the need to improve productivity levels and further diversify the national economy. However, continued infrastructure development and investment reforms are expected to support Albania’s long-term growth trajectory.
